Microneedling

What is Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves puncturing the skin with tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries. These micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural healing response, which leads to the production of collagen and elastin.

Clients who specifically have the following conditions;

  • Uneven texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

It is generally a painless procedure, however if we are treating someone for severe aging or severe acne scarring the depth of needles is deeper, hence a bit more sensitive. Once the treatment is done, an LED Light Therapy Mask is used for healing purposes.

  • Depending on the depth of needles used, the skin may be slightly red, and sensitive to touch for up to 48 hours
  • Be sure not to rub or scratch the skin.
  • Be sure to keep the skin well moisturised
  • Swimming, use of alcohol-based products and makeup should be avoided for the first 48-72 hours after the treatment.
  • Protect the skin with a good SPF50 and avoid sun exposure as much as possible.

You may experience some short term swelling, redness and skin flaking. This usually subsides within 48 hours. If you get any signs of an infection, seek medical advice.

The skins’ tone and texture will improve 1-2 weeks after treatment, however to see a visible change in the skins’ condition it take up to 90 days to see best results.
