Dermal fillers are injectable substances that are used to restore volume and improve the appearance of the skin. They are typically made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin. At aesthetiQue we use the Juvederm Fillers (HA Filler, Juvederm Ultra Smile Lip Filler and Filler Ultra 2)

Frequently Asked Questions About Dermal Fillers

Frequently Asked Questions About Dermal Fillers

The cost as well as intervals are dependent on which area is being treated and the type of filler usedc

  • Fillers can be used to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles
around the mouth, eyes, and forehead.
  • As we age, we can lose volume in our face, which can cause
hollows and sagging. Dermal fillers can be used to restore
volume to the cheeks, temples, and other areas of the face.
  • Dermal fillers can be used to enhance the volume and shape
of the lips, creating a fuller, more youthful look.
  1. Avoid blood thinners as certain medications and supplements can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising during the procedure. Patients should avoid blood thinners, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and vitamin E, for at least a week before their treatment.
  2. Avoid alcohol and caffeine as this can dehydrate the skin and increase the risk of swelling and bruising. Patients should avoid consuming alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours before their treatment.

Patients may feel a slight pinch or pressure as the needle or cannula is inserted into the skin, and they may feel some mild pressure as the filler is injected. However, the procedure is generally well-tolerated by most patients and is typically completed within 15-30 minutes.

After the procedure, patients may experience some mild swelling, bruising, or redness around the injection site. This is normal and typically subsides within a few days. Patients may also feel some mild discomfort or tenderness in the treatment area, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
